6th Grade Math: (Homework Will be GRADED from now on!) We will work on one lesson per day. Students have approximately 1/2 hour to work on their homework (Problem Set) each day. The Problem Set is to be finished for homework and is due the following day.
I have encouraged students to come to me with questions about their homework. I have also encouraged them to take their papers home for you to review before turning them in the next day. Feel free to check their work over and help them to correct things before turning it in.
(You can certainly HELP them to find answers, but do not do it for them. They need to learn this valuable skill for themselves.)
6th Grade L. Arts: Each day, except Wednesday, will begin with a journal entry. If your child is absent, have them write the date in their journal and write the word "Absent" for the entry. Journal entries do not need to be made up, but I do want to keep track of when the student was not in class. After "journal time", we move on to Vocabulary.
Monday we will have Grammar. Tuesday/Friday will be literature. Wednesday will be grammar and thinking skills. Thursday will be writing;
6th Grade History: Study guide is on the back of the student's table of contents in their history folders
World Studies 7: Study Guide is located on the back of the student's table of contents in their history folders.
Geography 8: I do not plan on handing out formal study guides. All notes and vocabulary words were chosen and given because they are on the test. Students have been told this many times, and should know what to study. When completed, the folder sections containing the notes and vocab ARE the study guide.
